On the morning of 26 August, a glacier collapse on the Tibetan side triggered a violent flood that swept away settlements and infrastructure in the Nepalese district of Rasuwa - on the border with Tibet - and in the areas downstream. The avalanche of snow and rock blocked the Bhote Koshi River, triggering a devastating disaster: the raging river burst its banks with destructive force, wiping out entire villages and sweeping away roads, bridges and buildings. Hundreds have died, whilst thousands are missing or injured.

Displaced families have lost everything. They need tents, food and cooking kits - immediately. For this reason, the Atiyoga Foundation and Shang Shung Publications have joined forces to support the affected communities, entrusting the humanitarian response to ASIA —an organization that has been actively working in the in Rasuwa since 2015
